Abstract
Binding wires such as are used for binding the ends of coils in electric machines are made by cold drawing austenitic steel alloys containing 12-24 per cent of chromium, 7-60 per cent of nickel, 1-6 per cent of copper, and 0,02-0,4 per cent of carbon, the nickel being wholly or partly replaceable by manganese or cobalt, and the addition of up to a total of 5 per cent of one or more of the following elements being permissible: titanium, vanadium, tantalum, niobium, tungsten, and molybdenum.
