Abstract
498,052. Securing rollers on shafts. WHITELEY, J., and WHITELEY, G. July 15, 1937, No. 19588. [Class 80 (ii)] A warp-beam a, or other roller, is secured on a shaft c without the use of any projecting parts, by a recessed part c<2>, having an internal keyway d slidably receiving a key e which is screwed in a radial opening in the end b of the beam, which end b is inserted in the recessed part c either by movement of the beam, or by sliding the recessed part along the shaft c to which it is afterwards secured. The keyway d has a circumferential enlargement d<2>, into which the key e is turned, and a setscrew f holds the parts in position. The beam-end b may be sleeved if its diameter is too small for the recessed part. The Provisional Specification states also that the key e may be carried by the part c<2> and the keyway be on the shaft.
