485,703. Electric signalling systems. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ, BARTHELEMY. R., and VOGEL, T. April 15, 1937, No. 10807. Addition to 437,539. [Class 40 (i)] [Also in Group XL] The system described in the parent Specification for operating a measuring instrument in accordance with a number of received impulses and comprising a condenser which is charged to a value representative of the number of impulses received through the intermediary of a gas-discharge tube, is modified to operate as a transmitter of impulses. The potentials across the condenser C<1> included in the circuit of a relaxation oscillator T<1> are utilized to modulate the carrier wave of a transmitter and also produce, through a diode D, a cumulative charge on a condenser C<2> which controls the floating cathode of a discharge tube T<2> The grid bias voltage U<1> of the tube T<2> is controlled by a selector switch in accordance with the signals to be transmitted and the arrangement is such that the tube T<2> operate a relay I to open the circuit of the oscillater when the charge on the condenser C<2> as determined by the number of impulses of the oscillator overcomes the predetermined grid bias U<1>. The transmitter may be employed in systems of telecommunication and ultra-rapid telegraphy.
