Abstract
477,167. Soles for slippers and like footwear. TRICKETT, Ltd., SIR H. W., and RICHARDSON, L. July 6, 1936, No. 18656. [Class 17 (ii)] A resilient sole for a slipper or other indoor footwear comprises ar outer shell a of rubber with a floor part forming the tread and an upstanding flange, the interior of the shell being filled with felt or like fibrous core b intimately attached thereto by moulding pressure and vulcanization. A row of stitches c passed through the core b near its edge serves as an anchorage for the attaching stitches of the upper d. The felt core or filler b may be treated with latex or other form of rubber before being applied to the sole a which may be of porous rubber, or of rubber having different degrees of hardness at upper and lower parts, and which may have an inwardly projecting flange over the core b at the top edge.
