Abstract
477,136. Handles. KAPPLER, E. M. April 26, 1937, No. 11854. Convention date, May 27, 1936. [Class 61 (i)] A device for holding sponges, dusters, or other cleaning-material comprises a number of resilient arms 3 with the tips 3<1> bent inwardly to grip a sponge &c., and guided in longitudinal grooves 2 within a socket member 1. The arms project through holes 4 in the base 11 of the socket member and are connected to a sliding ring 6 for closing them, elbows 14 on the arms engaging a peripheral groove 13 to secure the arms in gripping position. The stem 5 terminates in a socket 8 to receive the handle 9 or in a ball 15 provided with a number of angularly disposed openings 16 enabling the device to be set in different angular positions on the handle 17.
