Abstract

An internal coating for a can comprises 100 parts by weight of asphalt, 10 parts of montan wax, and \ba1/2\be to 2 parts of paracoumarone resin, the mixture being thinned with equal parts of toluene and carbon tetrachloride.ALSO:<PICT:0463797/III/1> Apparatus for coating a can body internally, which forms the subject-matter of Specification 467,069, comprises rotating magnetic rollers 14 for holding and rotating a body 1, and a reciprocating nozzle 16 from which the coating is delivered. Excess is collected in a pan 20. A coating-composition comprises 2 parts of blown asphalt to 1 part of gilsonite, with 14 parts of carbon tetrachloride.
