Abstract

466,947. Cartons with pouring orifices. LEVER BROS., Ltd., and AINSLEY, A. Nov. 13, 1936, No. 31122. [Classes 18 and 66] A cardboard box, e.g. for powdered, granular, flaky or like materials of the kind having an end closure effected by means of hinged flaps forming extensions of the sides and secured to each other by adhesive is provided with a pouring orifice by breaking through a weakened line 12, Fig. 1, at one of the angles between the top and a side, the adjacent walls 1, 6, Figs. 1 and 3, being creased at 8, 10, so that they may flex when the orifice is formed by end-wise pressure. The container may be made from the blank shown in Fig. 1, the shaded parts 5 being secured by adhesive to the inner side of panel 2. The breaking and folding lines 8, 10, 12 may be formed by perforation, scores or creases.
