Abstract

465,394. Vehicle spring-suspensions. GETEFO GES. FUR TECHNISCHEN FORTSCHRITT. Oct. 7, 1936, No. 27232. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1935. [Class 108 (ii)] In suspensions in which the wheel-carrying arms or turns are sprung by means of torsional rubber springs, a member rigidly joined to the lever arm is connected to the frame bv a number of rubber sleeves surrounding one another and preferably coaxially disposed. The wheel-carrying arm 1 is rigidly mounted on a sleeve 3 which in turn is mounted on an outer rubber ring 4 which is secured by vulcanization between metal sleeves 5, 6 keyed to the sleeve 3 and to an outer fixed sleeve 8. In addition the sleeve 3 is joined to an inner fixed sleeve 9 through a rubber sleeve 10 which is secured by vulcanization to metal sleeves 11, 12 keyed to the sleeves 3, 9. The outer and inner sleeves 8, 9 are secured to the frame member 14 by bolts 13. In order to take up lateral shock rubber rings 15, 16 are mounted between discs 17, 18 and the frame members, being vulcanized to metal intermediate discs. Bolts 19 passing through slots 21 in the frame members and threaded through the rubber members 15, 16 are entered into the sleeve 3. In a modification the outer rubber ring 26 is replaced by a rubber member 22, Fig. 4, secured between turned-in flanges 23, 24 of the metal sleeves 11, 12.
