Abstract
465,066. Electric incandescent lamps. SOC. ANON. POUR LES APPLICATIONS DE L'ELECTRICITE ET DES GAZ RARES ETABLISSEMENTS CLAUDE-PAZ & SILVA. Nov. 1, 1935, No. 30246. Convention date, Feb. 8. [Class 39 (ii)] A gas-filled electric lamp of elongated tubular form and provided with a filament of coiled or coiled-coil type, is characterized in that the filament is divided into several elements f<1>, f<2>, f<3> connected in series by conductors c<1>, c<2> which are adapted to prevent substantial ionization of the gas filling under working conditions to minimize arcing. The connectors may be maintained at a sufficiently low temperature or enveloped in a heat insulating material. Alternatively, they may be formed of a metal or alloy of low emission, or, if formed of a material of higher emission may be made of a sufficient thickness and length to keep down the temperature or be covered with a less emissive material. The leads e<1> and connectors may be made thick and without sharp edges. Preferably, the filament elements are arranged in a broken line as shown. In the lamp construction described, the filament is supported by hooks m<1>, m<2>, m<3> from a glass stem v parallel to the axis of the tube.
