456,688. Cylinders. ELLIOTT, A. G., Holmwood, Quardon, near Derby, and PEARSON, J. D., Lynedene, Blagreaves Lane, Littleover, Derby. Aug. 22, 1935, No. 23576. Addition to 431,144. [Class 7 (ii)] In a cylinder having a restricted combustion chamber with two inlet valves F parallel to the cylinder axis and two inclined exhaust valves c or described in the parent Specification, a sparking-plug J is arranged between the exhaust valves. The plug is enclosed in a metal tube J<2>, which insulates it from the inlet manifold, midway between, and below, the exhaust valves which are preferably set at 45‹ to the cylinder axis. A second sparking-plug J<1> may be placed between the inlet valves above the wall B<1> of the cylinder head which extends normal to the cylinder axis.
