[Class 78 (i)] [See also Group VI] Tobacco leaves are gripped and forwarded between a pair of endless spliced flexible metal cables 15, 16 supported by pulleys in multiple loop arrangements. The operating runs of one cable are opposite the spaces between the operative runs of the other cable, and pulleys 9, 14 guide the cross-over idle runs of the cables. The cables forward the leaves between stemming devices 21, 26 arranged at an angle to the cables.
