Abstract

432,656. Transformers. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 28, Kingsway, London, and CALVERLEY, J. E., 58, Crescent Road, Rowley Park, Stafford. March 26, 1934, No. 9435. [Class 38 (ii)] Relates to a transformer for supplying a rectifier 3 in which to eliminate distortion due to harmonics the windings 2<a>, 2<b> are arranged on a ring core in which a rotating flux is produced, the primary winding being connected in delta to eliminate one harmonic and the primary and/or secondary windings being short pitched to eliminate others. In the 3-phase system shown the delta connection of the primary eliminates the 3rd and the short pitching the 5th and 7th, the primary is short pitched to eliminate one and the secondary short-pitched to eliminate the other. The Specification states that the arrangement may be constructed similar to an induction regulator.
