Abstract

439,281. Domestic hearths; grates. CLARKE, S. J., c/o Clarke & Hobbs, Ltd., Station Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire. June 14, 1935, No. 17168. [Class 126] In a fireplace having a raised hearth 1 with a duct 12 extending through it to enable an ash-pan 15 located beneath the fire-grating 7 to be drawn through it from a space beneath the grating, which is located at or below the level of the hearth, the rear of the duct 12 terminates at an arched member 9 which supports the front of the grate. The fire-bed consists of two side bricks and the central grating 7, which is supported at the rear by a ledge on a bearer 11.
