Abstract

436,112. Powder boxes. BAKER, J. F., Sussex Hall, Dobbs Ferry, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignee of Bauer, W. J.) Dec. 3, 1934, No. 34724. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1933. [Class 18] A refill member for a powder box, consists of a seamless one piece rubber receptacle 11, rigid enough to be self-supporting and having permanent circumferential corrugations 12 so that it may be collapsed as required, by downward pressure of the puff 22 to squeeze powder through holes 16, 17 in relatively rotatable discs 15, 18 closing the mouth of the receptacle. The disc 15 is held by friction within the annular recess 21 formed by doubling over the top edge of the receptacle, and its edge may be roughened or knurled. To replenish the receptacle the discs may be temporarily removed by stretching the mouth of the receptacle. The discs may be of celluloid, hard rubber, metal, or the like.
