Abstract
423,878. Folding seats. AUSTIN, SiR H., Lickey Grange, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. Aug. 14, 1933, No. 22630. [Class 52 (ii)] A folding seat for vehicles comprises supporting means D, adapted to pivot at the lower end, and a seat E pivoted at or near its front edge to the support D and adapted to be folded by a turning movement in a forward direction through substantially 270‹ on to the support D, and the whole then folded again in the same direction through 90‹. The supports D may be pivoted at the lower end to the rear ends of base members C, the front ends of which are pivoted to some part of the vehicle or to a front seat, so that the base members with the seat folded down thereon may be folded up against the back of the front seat by a continued forward rotation. The back-rest F on supports f is also adapted to fold down upon the seat by rotary movement in the same direction.
