[Class 18] A shallow vanity case has two or more receptacles sealed by means such as walls, ribs, or projections coacting with grooves or recesses, the means being provided on some or all of the receptacles or their surrounds and on the lid or an inner hinged closure plate or plates. The box 1, Fig. 3, has a lid 2 carrying a mirror 3 and a plate 1<a> countersunk at 1<b> to receive receptacles 4<a>. A second plate 6 has ribs 5 engaging grooves 8 in closures 7a hinged to other closures or to the plate 6. In a modification, Fig. 8, the plate 1<a> is doubly countersunk at 1<b>, 1<c> to receive the receptacle 4a and a dished part 8<b> of the closure 7a. In another modification, Fig. 12, grooves 10 are formed in the plate 1<a> and ribs 11 on closures 12 secured to the closures 7a. The receptacles may be stamped out of or moulded in to the base of the box, and the closures may be carried by or formed in the lid. Resilient washers may be secured to the receptacles or their closures.
