426,657. Saddles. JELLEY, H., and JELLEY, J., Drilastic Works, Warwick Road, Tyseley, Birmingham. Oct. 20, 1933, Nos. 29040/33 and 29529/34. [Class 136 (iii)] A cycle saddle comprises a metal or other rigid seat member or top provided with elastic pads or insertions, or with a covering of elastic material, the pads or covering embodying flanged studs or button-like formations adapted to be sprung or forced into engagement with apertures or depressions in the seat member. In the form shown, two laterally-spaced apertures a of substantial size are formed in the metal &c. seat member near the cantle end, and are engaged by rubber pads having upper flanges b<3> and lower flanges b<4>. At the peak end, an elongated rubber pad b is formed with two flanged studs b<1> adapted to be forced through apertures in the seat member. In a modification, the seat member is wholly covered by a rubber &c. cover provided with similar flanged fixing-studs. The skirts of the seat member may have cut-away parts so that the sides of the rubber cover may be free to yield to the pedalling movements of the rider.
