Abstract

400,139. Wire and like strainers. HARLFY, C. E., 121, Marlborough Road, Bowes Park, and RIPAULTS, Ltd., 1, King's Road, St. Pancras, both in London. June 14, 1933, No. 16970. [Class 45.] A tool for tightening metal bands or wires such as those for securing a rubber hose pipe to a rigid union comprises two jaws 2, 5 one of which engages the eyed end of the band and the other engages the free end of the band which is passed through the eye. The jaw 2 is provided with a number of notches 7 in which the free end of the wire or band is gripped and is secured to a tubular casing 1 having a longitudinal slot 6 through which the jaw 5 projects, the latter being carried by a screw 3 rotatably mounted in the casing.
