Abstract

393,417. Drying felts of papermachines &c. SCHULZE, R., Haus Birke, Pommeroterweg, Aachen, Germany. June 9, 1932, No. 16329. Convention date, June 11, 1931. [Class 96.] A felt for papermachines, &c. is dried by forcing hot air, e.g. at 120‹ C. through it as it passes over a slotted or perforated cylinder. Air passes from a fan V through a heater H, through the perforations &c. and felt, and back through a pipe C, part escaping past adjustable dampers G and being replaced by fresh. air through an adjustable inlet E, a cover preventing air escaping where the felt does not contact with the cylinder. The air may be passed in the opposite direction through the felt to prevent it blowing off the cylinder.
