Abstract

381,125. Driving-belts. RADO. L., 4, Herwarthstrasse, Berlin. May 11, 1932, No. 13577. Convention date, June 3, 1931. [Class 80 (i).] A V-belt consists of a central tension band 1 of rubbered fabric layers with rubberfriction blocks 2, 3 vulcanized on both sides and so arranged as to have adjacent faces in contact on the outer side of the belt in the straight run of the belt and on the inner side of the belt when the belt runs around the smaller pulley, the gaps between the inner and outer sets of blocks being staggered to avoid " flutter " in the straight run of the belt. The blocks may have flat or curved adjacent faces ; preferably the outer blocks 2 are rectangular and the inner blocks 3 tapered. The Specification. as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that elastic covering- bands may be placed on the inner and outer faces of the belt to prevent entry of foreign bodies between the blocks. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
