Abstract

A condenser block, after assembly as by winding, is sprayed under pressure in a mould with an insulating composition, solid at normal temperatures but rendered liquid by heat, so as to coat it all over in the shape of the mould. The block may be compressed first by horizontal movement of the side walls of the mould, these walls being subsequently spaced apart to allow the casting of the external coating. A suitable composition comprises ozokerite &c. 70 parts, bitumen 20 parts and oil or oil containing substances 10 parts, by weight.
