Convention date, Feb. 6, 1931, Addition to 200,492, [Class 110 (iii), Turbines &c.] [Class 110 (iii).] In a hydraulic reversible turbine as described in the parent Specification and modified in Specification 268,335, [Class 110 (iii), Turbines &c.], so that odd and even blades on the rotor may be moved independently, the blade pitch in consequence being smaller than if all blades moved together, a modified form of control embodying three servomotors is described. The hub of the rotor and its contained mechanism for controlling the inclination of the blades described in Specification 268,335 are located at the lower ends of shafts 24, 11, 13, 15, and not shown in the drawings. The three servomotors, spaced at 120‹ as shown in Fig. 2, have the two end pistons 31 of each motor joined by a rack 32 each meshing with a gear wheel 33, 38, 39, clamped to shafts 15, 13, 11 respectively so that through the whole control device 51 is rotated by the driving shaft 24, relative movement between the blades may take place. Two driving fluid conduits 34, 35 are provided for each servomotor, the six distributing conduits for the three motors being indicated by 40a .. 40f in Fig. 3. These conduits are housed in the bore of the driving shaft portion 29 and lead to a distributing valve 41 fitted in a fixed casing 42 which has for each of the ascending conduits 40a .. 40e an annular channel 43 with a connecting branch 44. The sixth conduit 40f leads into a circular chamber 45 at the top of the distributer. The thrust bearing upper disc 47 bears on a stress transmitting ring 48 held on the shaft by a ring 49 in two parts.
