376,678. Bottle capsules. OHTA, C., 57, Chaya-machi, Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan.. Feb. 26, 1932, No. 5861. Convention date, March 23, 1931. [Class 125 (iii).] A bottle capsule has a cylindrical flange provided with two horizontal annular projections 2, 3 and a number of vertical ellipsoidal or rectangular perforations 4 formed between the horizontal projections and so disposed that when the capsule is positioned on a bottle and the upper horizontal projection is flattened by the downward pressure of a capsuling tool the perforated portion collapses into the groove of the bottle neck, securing the capsule thereto. The top of the capsule may be open, as shown, a plug c, encircled by washers, fitting into the bottle neck being protected by a metal liner fitting over the plug and under the horizontal part of the capsule. The plug may be dispensed with and the capsule lined with a layer of cork 5, Fig. 6. A tearing lug 7 is provided.
