Abstract
350,485. Separating solid materials. HOLMES, C. W. H., Deneside, Alverstone Avenue, Low Fell, and BIRTLEY CO., Ltd., Birtley, both in Durham. Dec. 3, 1929. No. 37051. [Class 117.] In apparatus for the separation of materials such as coal and slate of the type described in Specifications 207,094 and 321,670, [both in Class 117, Sifting &c.], the reciprocating table 25, shown in the Figure, is provided with a banking bar 37 and a straight spillage edge 36 inclined to each other, and both inclined to the line of reciprocation so that the angle of inclination of the banking bar is greater than that of the spillage edge. Two tables may be arranged in duplex formation in which the spillage edges are adjacent or at opposite sides, and the tables may be provided with riffles 27, preferably parallel to the reciprocating movement, or may be without riffles, in which case the surface is preferably formed with corrugations at right-angles to the reciprocating movement. The invention is described as embodied in apparatus as described in Specification 332,291, [Class 117, Sifting &c.].
