Abstract

356,473. Twisting artificial silk. CELLULOSE ACETATE SILK CO., Ltd., Caton Road, Lancaster, and CURTIS, H. C.; Abington, Royds Avenue, Morecambe, Lancashire. Sept. 4, 1930, No. 26463. [Classes 120 (ii) and 120 (iii).] To facilitate the starting operations in twisting artificial threads or filaments on ring frames, the ring 4 is detachably mounted on steady pins 3 so that it may readily be removed, finger-pieces being provided for this purpose if desired. The filament is threaded in the traveller when the ring is removed, as shown in Fig. 3, the ring being then replaced, and the filament led to the waste roller 10, whereby it may be caused to engage with the flange of the bobbin by means of a rod 7 or by a finger of the operative. The waste roller may be dispensed with and the filament collected on the godet which then serves as a waste roller. The flange of the bobbin may be provided with a notch or clip to facilitate the attachment of the filament.
