Abstract
355,267. Impact pulverizers for separating flour from bran. FORSTER, T. E., 1062, North Emporia Street, Wichita, Kansas, U.S.A. May 20, 1930, No. 15499. [Classes 59 and 117.] Hard-pressed flour and bran is separated by bar-like beater arms 19 mounted on a shaft 16 rotatable in a cylinder 5 having a perforated lower half 6 through which the flour is driven whilst the bran is carried by the air draught created by the beaters through the end of the cylinder into a bran-collecting chamber 9. The other end of the cylinder is provided with a feed and air inlet 7, 8 respectively and the bran-collecting chamber 9 is provided with an air outlet pipe 11 and a bran outlet 10. The flour passes through the screen 6 into a chamber 12 from which it is discharged by a screw 13.
