[Class 132 (ii).] The handle and one or both ends of the shoulder sling of a golf bag are attached to a longitudinal stiffening strip disposed between the outer cover and the inner lining of the bag. The bag is composed of an outer casing 1 the edges of which are sewn together with a lace 14 the joint being strengthened by the inclusion of a flexible steel strip 15. The lower end of the strip 15 is inserted in a metal loop attached to a cup-shaped piece 2 of leather secured to the bottom of the casing 1. An inner compartmented lining is formed in the bag by means of bow-shaped partitions 4, 5, 6 secured together as shown in Fig. 7. A leather strip 11 is sewn to both the casing 1 and the lining strips and encloses a metal mouth frame 12. Opposite to the joint 14 is situated, between the casing and the linings, a longitudinal flexible steel strip 17 to which is secured the handle 18 by means of eyebolts 23 and links 22. The lower end of the shoulder sling 19 is similarly attached to the strip 17 while the upper end is secured by a swivelling connection 28 to the frame 12. The upper end of the strip 17 is fastened to the leather strip 11 by means of a leather tab 20, its lower end being inserted in a loop secured to the cupped bottom. A "throttling strap" 29 for keeping the clubs in place is secured to the lower handle-bolt 23. A socket 30 and two straps 31, 32, the former of which is slidable along the strap 29, may be provided for holding an umbrella. The upper ends of the partition strips 4, 5, 6 may be elongated t form guides for inserting the clubs and any suitable hood 13 may be provided. Further reinforcing strips, similar to the strip 17, may be secured between the casing and the lining. In a modification, Fig. 8, an outer cylindrical casing 1 and an inner single-piece casing 33 are secured at their upper ends to the strip 11 and at their lower ends to a base 2 and a disc 9 respectively. A single partition 34 is secured to the mouth of the bag. The remaining constructional features are the same as those described with reference to Figs. 2, 5 and 7, but an additional reinforcing strip 35 is provided.
