332,737. Kos, A. July 16, 1929. Addition to 289,033. Cages.-Many arrangements are described for supporting a perch in a cage so as to give lateral and vertical residency. In arrangements exemplified in Fig. 1, the perch 28 is supported on a disc 61 movable on a rod 104 which is pivoted in a carrier or box 103 secured, preferably in a detachable manner, to the cage beam 2; the disc 61 rests on a spring 60 and side springs 112 permit lateral movement of the perch. Flat springs may replace the helical springs shown and the device may be hung by its pivot from the carrier mstead of being supported above it. In another arrangement the rod 104 carrying the perch is connected with a plate 145 capable of tilting and of moving vertically and supported on or suspended by springs 60. The casing 122 containing the spring system may have lateral grooves for receiving the cage wires or may be provided at one or both sides with a grooved spring member 6 for engaging the wires 4. The casing may be arranged to take perches extending outside the cage wires.
