Abstract

335,577. Fraschetti, V. June 26, 1929. Sanitary and hygienic devices. -A disinfecting cover is hinged to a telephone or like mouthpiece or to a grooved and split base ring 6 adapted to be secured thereto, in such a manner as to be swung into or out of the mouthpiece, as desired, or is otherwise mounted on the mouthpiece and carries externally rotatable wiper means to clean the mouthpiece. As shown, the cover comprises a cone 1 with perforated sides and is adapted to be filled through a screw plug 14 with disinfectant in solid or granular form. A rod 7 carrying a knob 12 at its outer end is slidably and rotatably mounted in a base plate 3 of the cover to which the cone is screwed, and carries at its inner end a spring wiper arm 8 which conforms in shape to the mouthpiece and carries a resilient pad 9. A disc 10 with a pad 11 for wiping the perforated cover of the mouthpiece is also attached to the rod 7 and arms 15 on the rod stir up the disinfectant as the wiper is operated.
