334,935. Spencer, Moulton, & Co., Ltd., G., and Glascodine, R. T. June 12,1929. Joints with yielding outer part compressed.- A flexible hose 2 is connected to a metal nipple 1 bv a sleeve 5 which is divided into three or more parts and has a flared mouth 11 and a flange 6 which engages an annular recess 3 in the nipple. The parts of the sleeve are compressed by bolts and a divided clamp 8. The inner surface of the sleeve has ribs or corrugations which may be duplicated on the nipple. The portion of the hose within the recess 1<a> of the nipple is unarmoured. Specification 289,518 is referred to.
