Inflatable toys; animals and puppets. - Inflatable rubber bodies such as toys are provided with means for receiving stiffening or supporting elements to be inserted after manufacture, such means being air-tightly separated from the interior of the body. As shown in Fig. 1 in the case of a toy policeman, a rubber tube 26 traversing the interior of the body but not communicating with it, serves for the reception of a wire 4 which may then be bent to position the arms as desired. In the case of the feet, the edge seams may be partly unwelded to leave a tubular space 22 in which a wire may be inserted, the wire being then bent to dispose and retain the feet for supporting the figure. In another construction the edge seam may be turned up and again welded as shown in Fig. 15 in order to accommodate the guide tube 26. In a further variant the seam may be slit as in Fig. 14 to enable the stiffener 4 to be held in place.
