Ground-markers.-A machine for marking lines upon roads, tennis courts and other surfaces comprises a closed paint or colour container mounted in association with a brush or the like upon a carriage, the container in its normal position of operation being adapted for a continuous gravity feed of paint to the brush, but being adapted for inversion so as to reverse the flow and cut off the feed on completion of the marking operation. The container a, Fig. 4, and the brush l are adjustably mounted on a carriage supported on ground-wheels f and adapted to be propelled over the ground by a handle z. The paint issues, by gravitation, in ribbon form from a linear outlet c and is applied to the ground by the brush, the rate of feed being capable of regulation by adjusting of the pressure of the brush against the outlet. Auxiliary wheels s at each side of the brush prevent undesirable widening of the brush due to irregularities of the ground. On completion of a marking operation, the machine is inverted so as to rest on the closed end b, Fig. 5, of the container and thus discontinue the feed of paint. Inverted V-shaped troughs y at opposite sides of the outlet c intercept the drips of paint when the machine is in the inverted position. A filler cap wand an adjustable vent cap x are provided.
