Igniters combined with cigarette &c. delivery apparatus; lighting cigars and the like by electric devices.-A cigarette &c. delivery and lighting apparatus comprises means for simultaneously dropping a cigarette from a container and closing the circuit of an electric igniter, inclined means being provided to catch the cigarette and guide it to rest against the igniter. In the form shown, a. plate 24 is raised by depressing a key 28 so as to project through a slot in the floor 15 of the container 12 and push the lowermost cigarette over a bead 16 on to inclined hook-shaped brackets 36 and simultaneously a feeder plate 17 is swung inwardly, the circuit of an electric igniter 35 being closed by a spring-pressed pivoted switch member 32 released by the movement of a strap 34 on the link 26. The cigarette is prevented from coming directly into contact with the igniter by an indined plate 38 forming a wall of a flue above the igniter. On releasing the key 28 the parts are returned by a spring 29 to the normal position, another cigarette passing under the lower edge of the plate 17 to rest against the bead 16.
