Abstract
312,917. Clerc, H. J. M. E. June 1, 1928, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Dry processes of refining copper and nickel; alloys.-Copper, nickel, and copper-nickel alloys are refined by causing chlorine to act on the molten metal. A stream of chlorine may be passed through the metal. which may be covered with a layer of a chloride such as calcium chloride; or the stream of chlorine may carry with it a volatile chloride; or the metal may be blown with oxygen in the presence of a chloride.
