Abstract

Regulating or controlling.-In a pump delivery pipe, an air escape valve b is combined with the non-return valve a for the liquid, and is controlled thereby through the medium of a weighted lever c connected by a spring f to the valve a, so that the valve b opens when the valve a closes. If used with the rotary pumps without suction valves, a non-return valve g, Fig. 2, is provided to close the air port d when the valve bis open. The device may be used in connection with an auxiliary pump employed for keeping a main pump or a syphonic conduit clear of air.
