Abstract

299,756. Morehouse, D. de F., and Capitelli, C. July 30, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Steering road vehicles by rails and like guides. -A self-propelled or externally-driven vehicle is automatically steered by means of a lever 4 pivoted to the axle 1 and connected to the steering wheels 3 and having means such as a roller 5 adapted to engage a guide channel or rail 6. In the case of a roundabout, rollers 7, Fig. 2, carried by the axle 1 may engage the sides of the rail and thus keep the cars in the required track. In the construction shown in Fig. 4, one vehicle draws another and the steering lever 4 is provided with two arms 14 enabling the vehicle to be coupled together by cables or other means 15. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 13996/96, 16378/03, 102,385, and 232,555.
