Abstract

296,500. Brader, G. B. June, 17, 1927. Moulding concrete pipes.- Moulds comprising an annular space between inner and outer shells are formed by removable end pieces or formers adapted to receive an expansible sheetmetal core and to support an outer sheet-metal casing adapted to form a spigot and socket, both mould and core being divided longitudinally at one end only. As shown, formers 6, 7 receive a sbeet-metal core 2 which is expanded by a T-wedge 3. Shoulders 6<a>, 7<a> receive an outer sheet-metal casing 4 which is secured by bolts 4<h> passing through flanges 4<a> 4b spaced by tubes 4k. The end portion 4<c>, 4<d> of the casing is adapted to form a socket and co-operates with the former 6 being secured thereto by a bolt passing through flanges 4<x>. Longitudinal bolts 4<m> pass through lugs in the formers to secure the mould. The casing is strengthened by rings 4P through which the bolts may pass. Material is introduced through the slot between the flanges 4a, 4b and 4<x>. A member 5 closes the socket end of the mould.
