Abstract

278,842. Oliver, C., and Oliver Pell Control, Ltd. Aug. 13, 1926. Inductances. - An insulating support A of ebonite, vulcanite, &c. is provided with alternate shallow and deep recesses D, E, the former of which are wound to form a high-frequency chole coil having sections separated by air spaces. The walls of the recesses are furnished with a number of radial slots cut to the depth of the unwound recesses E. The layers of the winding may be separated by insulating rings of varnished paper, cardboard, &c., and the windings may be covered by silk or other ribbon to exclude dust, and the body of the wound former, excluding the base C and the top end, may be encased in celluloid, &c. The support A has a central bore B which is reduced at the base and counter-sunk to receive a screw for attaching the coil to a panel, &c.
