Abstract
277,606. Schifner, H. Sept 20, 1026, [Convention date]. Make-and-break switches, mechanical. - A device for use in connection with electrical advertising comprises a number of discs 3 mounted on a shaft 2 and provided with segments 4 which are adjustably secured by clamp screws to the discs in different lengths and are adapted to engage rollers 8 on the ends of pivoted levers 7 whereby lamps are switched on successively and switched off simultaneously. The levers which are mounted on a shaft 6, are provided with contacts 9 which co-operate with contact springs 10 for making and breaking two sets of branch circuits. Mercury switches 11 for opening and closing the main circuits are carried by levers mounted on the shaft 6 and adapted to be engaged by segments on a pair of discs 3 so that sparking at the contacts 9, 10, is prevented. The switches 11 may also be employed for turning on the two sets of branch circuits alternately during a cycle of the shaft 2, the segments on the two discs corresponding to the switches being arranged so that the segments on one disc are staggered with respect to those on the other disc.
