Abstract
259,875. Koppenhague, R. A. June 21, 1926. Addition to 245,699. Springs, arrangement of.-The shock absorbing device for front transverse suspension springs of motor vehicles described in the parent Specification is modified mainly by mounting the substantially horizontal spring blades longitudinally on the frame and connecting the substantially vertical spring blades to the axle. The arrangement described corresponds more particularly to the device shown in Fig. 4 of the parent Specification. The substantially horizontal spring blades comprise blades 6, 14 anchored at one end to a plate 15 on the frame, and a superposed blade 3 connected at one end to a pin 8 which is carried by the upper end of a substantially vertical spring blade 1 carried by a bolt 2 secured to a bracket 5 on the axle 17. The other ends of the blades 3 and 14 are carried on the upper and lower bolts 10, 13 of a shackle 11 through which the blade 6 passes and extends almost to the pin 8. A clip 16 limits the separation of the blades 3, 6.
