Abstract
259,505. Brown, A. H., and Siluminite Insulator Co., Ltd. July 8, 1925. Insulators; insulating-materials. - Electrical insulators and their articles are moulded from cementitious material, such as portland or magnesia cement and, after being allowed to set and harden, are impregnated with one or more incompletely condensed synthetic resins in liquid form, which are first heated to a temperature of 60‹-80‹ C. to allow them to permeate the cement and are then further heated to a temperature of 100‹-130‹ C. to complete the condensation. The impregnating liquid may be prepared as described in Specification 255,516, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], and filling materials such as asbestos fibre, slate dust, or clay may be added to the cement.
