Abstract

257,033. White, A. E., (Budd Wheel Co.). May 26,1925. Double and multiple wheels arranged side by side; detaching from, and attaching to, permanent hubs.-A dual wheel construction comprises similar discs 10 detachably secured to a flange 14 on the wheel hub by studs 20 adapted to extend through holes 18 in the discs. The inner disc 10 is secured in position against the hub flange 14 by annular shoulders 26 formed on cap-nuts 25 which are screwed on the studs 20, nuts 28 screwing over the cap-nuts 25 to secure the outer disc 10 against the shoulders 26. To centre the discs, the edges 19 of the disc stud holes 18 are bevelled as shown in Fig. 2, the shoulders 26 and the edges of the nuts 28 which contact with the outer disc 10 being correspondingly bevelled.
