Abstract
A surgical lighting system 1 comprises a fibre optic light source 2 housed within a flexible tube or shaft. The light can be clipped to the bed-frame and the light source manipulated by moving the bendable tube so as to provide a hands-free, easily manipulated light source 2 for surgical staff. The unit can also be clipped onto clothing.
Description

DESCRIPTION

THE SURGICAL THEATRE FIBRE OPTIC BENDY LIGHTS

The Surgical Theatre Fibre Optic Bendy Lights are designed to provide a highly concentrated illumination upon areas where a surgeon is working during surgical operatmg procedures.

At present when viewing the patient being operated on there are certain areas that appear shaded.

The Surgical Theatre Fibre Optic Bendy Lights would illuminate much more clearly, those areas that at present appear shaded, addiflg to the efficiency and expertise of the surgeon.

The nature of my design is that The Surgical Theatre Fibre Optic Bendy Lights enable the surgeon to work hands free rather than holding on to them because the lead to the bendy lights are made from bendable substance, are very plyable and bend in any direction that the surgeon may want to direct them while operating; and it clips on to the surgical theatre bedside.

The Surgical Theatre Fibre Optic Bendy Lights can be powered by mains or battery and come with a lightweight power pack charger that is connected to the battery power unit that clips onto surgical theatre bedside. It can be made to a larger scale for mecbanical use such as in garages when mechanics are repairing vehicles and wish to view closely the engines and underneath the car the unit can be clipt onto the mechanics belt.

The accompanying drawings explain my invention. Figure 1 shows the power pack and bendy light. Figure 2 shows the clip on at the back of the power pack that clips on to the surgical theatre bedside. Figure 3 shows three Surgical Theatre Fibre Optic Bendy Lights with connections to the power pack. Figure 4 shows how the Surgical Theatre Fibre Optic Lights clip on to the side of the operating theatre bed when in use. Figure 5 shows the fibre optic lead to approximate width size. Figure 6 shows the application of the Surgical Theatre Fibre Optic bendy lights in garages.
