Abstract

A convection heater 100 comprises a plurality of vertical fins 105a - 105e with each fin coupled to a neighbouring fin by at least two conduits 110a-110c, the conduits providing an air passage between the neighbouring fins and at lest one of the conduits having a heating element (220a - 200c, fig 2) located in one of the conduits, and the fins having at least one aperture 300 to allow air to enter and exit the fins. Each fin 105a - 15e may comprise of two side walls (500 & 501, fig 5) defining a volume within which the air circulates while being heated. Air passing through the fins 105a - 105e may undergo a series of expansions and contractions to accelerate the air according to the Venturi effect. A plurality of heating elements (220a - 200c) of the same or different power output may be provided. The heater may include feet, spacers or wheels (700, fig 7), a handle 305 and a fan unit to blow air within the fins or an additional heating element. Singular or plural plastics or metal end panels 115 may be provided and may include a control mechanism to operate the heater 100 and may be configured to receive and store a mains power cable.
