Abstract

A heated bait box comprises a bait tub 7 which is wrapped with a miniature electric blanket 6 powered by batteries 4. The blanket is secured to the tub by straps 1. The batteries are secured in a compartment with an adjustable lid 12. The tub is fitted with a lid 8, and the whole fitted with a handle 3.

Description

BAIT WARMER

The inventions basic design is to keep anglers bait active and from freezing in the winter months.

A common problem for anglers, especially match anglers who take fishing as a serious and competitive sport, is in the cold temperatures maggots, the most common bait used in course fishing, loose all signs of life and can actually stop moving altogether.

The bait warmer is designed to generate a heat source around a single bait tub, keeping maggots active and more desirable to fish.

With fishing being a serious and competitive sport with only limited ways to improve on tackle and bait to maximise on the number of fish caught, I therefore feel there is a huge market for this product.

The bait warmer would mainly be made of plastic not only making the product easy to carry but also minimise costing to market the product.

Also shows control box 2 with switch 9 which is used to switch off and on power to the blanket 6. Light 10 on control box shows when power is on. Wire 11 leads to battery holders for power source.

Figure 1 Shows how blanket is secured to bait tubs to give maximum effect. Straps 1 To be used. Lids can be removed and bait placed in and secured while in transit enabling bait warmer to give maximum effect before fisherman reach their destination. Batteries 4 are placed in two compartments along side each other. 4 D batteries are required for power source. Batteries are then secured with adjustable lid 12.

Figure 2 Shows the bait stand 5 to help secure bait tub in muddy conditions. It also shows the width which has been designed so weight is distributed evenly and prevents bait warmer from tipping over.

Figure 3 Shows handle 3 similar to a luggage case designed to make carrying simple.

Fig 3 also shows the size of the tubs 7 in comparison with the bait warmer.

1. I The device generates a heat source to be used to enable bait to continually keep active in cold temperatures.
2. 2 The use of the device as claim 1 has been designed using light materials with an adjustment handle making it easy to carry.
3. 3 The device can also be used in transit while bait being fully secured.
4. 4 The bait warmer substantially as here in described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
