Abstract

248,617. Gessler, H. July 1, 1925. Scrapers for tobacco pipes. - A device for scraping the bowl comprises two blade members 12, 18 each formed with a finger-piece 14, 19, one blade being curved and presenting two scraping-edges, while the other blade 12 has a single scraping-edge and is arranged at right angles to the first blade, as shown in Fig. 6. The finger-piece 19 has two lugs 22 cut therefrom and bent outwards so that their ends 24 may be passed through slots in the firger-piece 14 and turned over to secure the two members together. By pressing the finger-pieces together, the blade 12 may be pivoted about a hinge-line formed by shoulders 23 provided on the lugs 22, thus adapting the device to pipes of various sizes.
