Abstract

247,300. Salerni, E. M. Nov. 14, 1924. Cooling discharged materials.-Carbonaceous material is dried in the upper portion A of the apparatus shown in Fig. 4, distilled in the portion B and the coke cooled in the cooler C. The material in each portion is moved over plates by endless chain conveyers 15 having scraper bars 16. The hollow plates 6 and 7 of the coke cooler are cooled by the circulation of water there-through. Rollers 19 feed the material from one portion to the next and constitute a gas-tight seal. Specifications 224,568 and 247,274, [Class 8 (ii), Air and gases, Treating &c.], are referred to.
