Abstract

An adaptor, for adjusting the angle between a handle and a tool head to 90 degrees, comprises a pair of interengaging cogs 5, 13 held within a casing 9 by respective bearings 7, 11. One of the cogs 13 has a rectangular shaft 15 with a ball 16, while the other cog 5 has a rectangular, especially square, hole 4. Teeth 6, 12 on each cog 5, 13 cooperate to enable turning of a tool though a ninety degree angle.

Description

THE ROTATOR 1 This invention relates to a socket device.
When there is a nut or a bolt in a place that's hard to get to, or where there is restricted room around it -a spanner or ratchet can only move if a fraction at a time. To overcome this problem the present invention proposes a tool that fits a socket on one end and an extension bar on the other and then can be rotated by a ratchet to turn the socket.
The rotator is made to work in a narrow places, As it only has to twist to work. Extra extensions can be attached to the rotator if necessary to bring the end in to a non-restricted area to fit a ratchet on to and to turn the socket on the end of the rotator.
This tool is to be used in conjunction with sockets and ratchets.
One cog has a rectangular shaft to fit a socket. The other cog has a square dent to fit a ratchet, It can rotate in ether direction by the ratchet.
An example of this invention will be described by referring to the accompanying drawings.

This invention can also be used on the same basics for a drill on a 90 degree angel.

(13) the cog with a rectangular shaft (15) with a balI (16). That fits into bearing (11) in the casing (9) and is held in by a sir clip (17).
(5) the cog with the square hole in the center (4) and a hole on its inside wall (3) fits into the bearing (7) in the casing (9) and its held in by the sir clip (1).
The teeth (6) fit into teeth (12) when they are set in the casing (9).
Bearing (7) fits into flange (8). The lip (2) on a cog (5) stops the cog passing the bearing.
The sir cIip(1) holds the cog in place. And flange (10) holds bearing (11) The lip (14) stops the cog passing through the bearing and cog (13)is held in by sir cIip(17).

Claims (7)

  1. CLAIMS1 Rotating cog that can turn in either direction to turn another cog on an opposite angle held together in a case with bearings one cog has a rectangular shaft with a ball disposed on the shaft where the other cog has a square hole in the centre, the cogs are held together on a degree angle.
  2. 2 Rotating cogs according to claim 1, the cogs have grooved teeth on one end to fit into each other and then its all held together by the casing.
  3. 3 Rotator cogs according to claim 1, In which cog (13) has a rectangular shaft whit a ball disposed on the shaft.
  4. 4 Rotator cogs according to claim 1,cog (5) has a rectangular hole in the centre to fit a drive device and a round hole on the inner wall.
  5. Rotator cogs according to claim 1, Two cogs held together in a case in bearings on a 90 degree angle, one cog has a square hole in the centre the other cog has a square shaft to fit a socket.
  6. 6 Rotator cogs according to claim 1, The teeth on the cogs are on a degree angle.
  7. 7 Rotator cogs according to claim 1, where the cogs are adapted to work as a 90 degree drill extension.
