Abstract

A cushioning device for medical tubing, clamps, connectors and adapters <B>3, 4, 5, 6</B> etc comprises a cushion to enclose the tubing etc. The cushion may comprise two parts <B>11, 12</B> which are connected together by means of a releasable fastening <B>10</B>, which may form part of the inner sides of the device. The cushioning device may have a cover made from fabric, paper or plastic material. The cushioning device may further comprise a sound making component such as an air chamber which has a smaller chamber inside which holds a reed which vibrates through the pressure of air making a noise when the air chamber is pressed by the weight of a patient's body, thus providing an alarm mechanism. The device is intended to be used to cushion PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) feed clamps, PEG-feed adapters, Y-connectors and similar components so as to prevent injury to a patient lying on them.
