A lamp diffuser is provided with lugs, whereby it is easily attached directly to a spider.

Description
I am applying for a patent for the two tabs I have added to a diffiser (fig. 1) which turns the diffuser into a diffuser gimbal.
By adding the tabs to the diffuser we reduce the components and labour substantially e.g. (Fig.
2).

Separtefinial The design of the new diffuser gimbal (fig. 3) not only reduces the components and labour of the gimbal but by using the tabs as a fixing point there is no need for a nut and a thread to hold the assembly together.
I have designed a new one piece cap (fig. 3 : item 2) which is a push fit so no tools are required.
The new design not only is far easier and quicker to assemble, it looks far tidier, and there is no metal under the bulb, so there is no shadow.
Claims (1)
- ClaimsTo date the diffuser was simply a heat diffusing shield.By redesigning the diffuser with the addition of two very important 'tabs' (fig 2). The heat shield now becomes a structural part of the gimbal (fig 3), and reduces the components required.
